Photo diary
Diaries are a private matter. They contain the most intimate thoughts that some lock-in themselves and some choose to keep in writing.
That is not the case with my diary.
It is a combination of photographic self-portraits with my personal feelings and thoughts
in the description of photography.
Photography as a medium must be visible and reach people, which is why this diary is open to the public. It is primarily presented through the social network Instagram, which gives it the unique, interactive quality of public availability, as the engagement of followers, builds up the additional quality that evolves from the original content. I want to present myself through the diary, but I also want to do a self-analysis - I am investigating in a way, presenting myself with all my flaws and strengths, and I want people to seek, identify, or even be shocked,
either positively or negatively.
Montenegro is a small community with petty standards, so this diary is an opportunity for me to do something different, something meaningful for me which helps me present
myself to the rest of the world.
My goal is also to promote freedom of expression, to influence people, as much as I can,
to love themselves and be who they are. I am one of those people who does not feel free,
at least in this country, so being the main subject in a photograph is important to me.
Nowadays, everyone has easy access to photography via smartphones, which they use to publish selfies - beautified versions of themselves distorted by various filters, posters,
and the like ... The selfie has evolved into a tool for constructing one’s identity.
We use it to create our desired notion that conforms to widely accepted standards
and popular cultural values.
